Job Description
The Principal Enterprise Architect at Celonis is a senior strategic role responsible for designing and overseeing the company's platform architecture within client environments, aligning technical solutions with business goals, leading modernization efforts, and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver maximum business value through process intelligence and AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and oversee the enterprise architecture, data, and cloud strategy for the customer within their IT landscape.
- Establish architectural principles, policies, and standards, and lead architecture review processes.
- Drive enterprise modernization using emerging technologies such as AI and process intelligence.
- Design complex data pipelines and integration patterns to connect disparate systems into a unified digital twin.
- Present technical designs and value propositions to senior executives, aligning them with strategic goals.
- Manage customer escalations and ensure delivery aligns with customer strategy and targets.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams of AI engineers, data scientists, and domain experts during customer engagements.
- Act as the primary liaison between customer technical teams and Celonis Product Engineering to influence product development.
- Help customers establish and scale a Celonis Center of Excellence, mentoring internal architects and process leads.
Requirements
- 12 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture or a CTO-level role at a major software vendor.
- Mastery of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
- Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies including Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Deep understanding of SaaS ecosystems such as SAP S 4HANA, Salesforce, and ServiceNow, as well as legacy on-premise architectures.
- Demonstrated experience in Agentic AI, Machine Learning workflows, and process mining methodologies.
- Strong foundation in cybersecurity posture, data privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA, and SOC2 ISO compliance within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Proficiency in presenting technical designs and value realizations to CIOs, CFOs, and CTOs, and aligning their strategic goals with technical capabilities.
- Ability to internalize customer strategy and targets and drive delivery alignment to support solving business-critical problems.
- Experience in designing overall architecture, data, and cloud strategy for enterprise solutions ensuring scalability, performance, and security across global deployments.
- Experience in establishing architectural principles, policies, and standards, and leading or consulting on Architecture Review Boards (ARB).
- Experience in driving enterprise modernization using techniques like capability mapping and architecting solutions with emergent technologies such as Agentic AI and Process Intelligence Graph.
- Experience in designing complex data pipelines, OCPM, and integration patterns including ETL, ELT, and API ecosystems that connect disparate systems into a unified Digital Twin of the business.
- Experience in confidently presenting technical designs and value realizations to senior stakeholders and establishing program roadmaps.
- Ability to resolve customer escalations by orchestrating internal teams efficiently and effectively in a timely manner.
- Experience in organizing and leading customer advisory boards to address industry-specific challenges and innovations.
- Experience in mobilizing and leading multidisciplinary teams of Applied AI engineers, Data Scientists, and Domain Experts.
- Experience as the primary conduit between customer technical teams and Product Engineering to influence product roadmaps and resolve high-stakes technical blockers.
- Experience in helping customers establish and scale a Celonis Center of Excellence (CoE), mentoring internal architects and process leads.
