Job Description
An Accounting Manager responsible for overseeing the monthly financial close process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, supporting audits, and improving accounting processes through automation and technology within a SaaS company.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the monthly financial close process, including preparing account reconciliations and journal entries
- Review and analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts to ensure accuracy and USGAAP compliance
- Support external audits and ensure consistency between USGAAP and local IFRS books
- Implement and update accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with financial systems team to improve processes through automation and AI
- Assist leadership with ad-hoc analyses and management reporting
- Partner with departments to ensure accurate financial data and support complex accounting areas
Requirements
- Five (5) years of operational accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience preparing account reconciliations, submitting journal entries, and working with other departments to obtain relevant information as part of the monthly financial close process.
- Ability to prepare monthly reconciliations and analyses of balance sheet and profit and loss accounts ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
- Experience reviewing monthly rollforwards, reconciliations, and analyses prepared by team members, including prepaids and fixed assets.
- Active engagement in implementing new accounting policies and procedures.
- Partnering with the financial systems team to ensure adherence to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and AI solutions.
- Proactive support of leadership with ad-hoc analyses and management reporting.
- Experience working with statutory and technical accounting teams to ensure consistency between US GAAP and local IFRS books.
- Interface with external auditors as needed.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to develop thoughtful, efficient, and automated solutions.
- Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
- Dependability in delivering accurate work within deadlines.
- Prior experience with cloud-based ERP systems such as Netsuite, Workday, or Intacct is highly preferable.
- Prior SaaS software industry experience is a plus.
- Licensed CPA and/or Big 4 accounting firm background is a plus.
