Job Description

The UX Designer for Infrastructure and Developer Experience at Canonical will focus on creating intuitive and efficient user experiences for complex open-source software products, collaborating with engineering teams to enhance the usability and accessibility of tools that support cloud experiences and developer workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance Ubuntu's offerings.
  • Implement industry best practices in UX design.
  • Create clear and stylish presentations to improve user experience.
  • Focus on usability, accessibility, and web standards in design.
  • Conduct user research and engage with design innovation.
  • Present design concepts clearly in cross-functional meetings.
  • Connect design leadership to the company's strategic vision.

Requirements

  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
  • Bachelor's or equivalent in User Experience, Design, or STEM.
  • Knowledge and passion for user experience, technology and design.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement - curious, flexible, scientific.
  • Result-oriented with a drive to finish work and celebrate success.
  • Confidence in user research practices.
  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with a complex mix of engineers, designers, and executives.
  • Ability to present design position with clarity and precision.
  • Confidence and excitement to take on complex design challenges.
  • Ability to connect design leadership to the strategic vision of the company.
