Job Description
The UX Designer for Infrastructure and Developer Experience at Canonical will focus on creating intuitive and efficient user experiences for complex open-source software products, collaborating with engineering teams to enhance the usability and accessibility of tools that support cloud experiences and developer workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance Ubuntu's offerings.
- Implement industry best practices in UX design.
- Create clear and stylish presentations to improve user experience.
- Focus on usability, accessibility, and web standards in design.
- Conduct user research and engage with design innovation.
- Present design concepts clearly in cross-functional meetings.
- Connect design leadership to the company's strategic vision.
Requirements
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
- Bachelor's or equivalent in User Experience, Design, or STEM.
- Knowledge and passion for user experience, technology and design.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement - curious, flexible, scientific.
- Result-oriented with a drive to finish work and celebrate success.
- Confidence in user research practices.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long.
- Excellent communication skills to work with a complex mix of engineers, designers, and executives.
- Ability to present design position with clarity and precision.
- Confidence and excitement to take on complex design challenges.
- Ability to connect design leadership to the strategic vision of the company.
