A Tax Senior Associate role focused on managing global corporate tax, VAT, and transfer pricing processes for a fast-growing open-source technology company, with responsibilities including tax compliance, planning, audit support, and process improvement in a remote or London-based setting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and review corporate tax, VAT, and other relevant tax filings for multiple entities.
Collaborate with external advisors to develop transfer pricing documentation and tax planning strategies.
Serve as the primary contact for tax audits and inquiries, preparing responses and supporting documentation.
Identify and implement process improvements in tax operations, leveraging technology and automation.
Handle tax provisioning and reporting under IFRS, including calculating effective tax rates and preparing disclosures.
Monitor and assess the impact of changes in global tax legislation on the company.
Design and own tax processes supporting the company's global expansion.
Requirements
A strong academic background from both high school and university, with an undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, technology, or other quantitative fields.
Fully qualified accountant with professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, and tax advisor qualifications such as CTA or ADIT, or equivalent.
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant tax experience, gained within a Big 4 Top 10 accounting firm or a multinational in-house tax team.
Experience managing and coordinating the preparation and review of corporate tax, VAT, and other relevant tax returns for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
Experience working with external advisers to develop transfer pricing documentation and tax planning initiatives, and leading their implementation.
Experience acting as a key point of contact for tax authority audits and enquiries, including preparing responses and supporting documentation in collaboration with external advisors.
Experience identifying opportunities to streamline and improve tax processes, controls, and data management, particularly using technology and automation.
Experience managing and running tax provisioning and reporting under IFRS, including calculating effective tax rates and preparing tax-related disclosures for financial statements.
Ability to monitor changes in tax legislation across regions and assess their potential impact on the company.
Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
Demonstrable work ethic, self-motivation, and confidence to work alongside motivated colleagues and go above-and-beyond expectations.
Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events, each up to two weeks long.
