Job Description
A Software Engineer responsible for ensuring Ubuntu's optimal performance on systems by collaborating with open source communities, troubleshooting, and applying patches, primarily supporting OEM and ODM customers in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, triage, and fix critical system-level problems in Ubuntu
- Collaborate with upstream projects to find and apply patches for bugs
- Provide software and system engineering services for OEM and ODM customers
Requirements
- Participation in open-source development projects
- Passion on Linux and Open Source projects
- Strong English-language communication skills, especially in online environments such as mailing lists and IRC
- Excellent and proven time-management skills
- Ability to be productive in a globally-distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation
- Must be able to travel internationally to the EU, USA, China, and Taiwan as required
