Job Description
This role involves developing and upstreaming advanced open source networking software, collaborating with global teams and industry partners to create innovative data center networking solutions, and contributing to the broader open source community with a focus on hardware acceleration, network protocols, and cloud integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver open source networking software for data center and enterprise environments
- Collaborate with upstream communities, public clouds, and silicon providers to design and implement networking solutions
- Write high-quality, secure, and well-documented software for network applications
- Debug and fix issues in networking software
- Contribute to technical documentation and open source projects
- Engage with the open-source community and industry partners to influence networking technologies
Requirements
- An exceptional academic track record or a compelling narrative about your alternative path in relation to an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM.
- Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations.
- Knowledge of networking architecture, design, and protocols.
- Understanding of Linux networking, from kernel to user space.
- Fluency in C and at least one of Rust, Python or Golang.
- Professional written and spoken English.
- Experience with Linux.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
- Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments.
- Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks each.
