A regional sales manager responsible for leading the direct sales team in North America, focusing on driving revenue growth through strategic relationships, open source software expertise, and collaboration with partners and customers in the technology industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the regional direct sales team to achieve revenue targets.
Build and expand strategic relationships with partners, vendors, and customers.
Develop and own sales strategies and engagement plans to drive market expansion and revenue growth.
Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with clients and partners.
Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, sales engineering, and product management to meet objectives.
Drive awareness and understanding of open source capabilities and Canonical's Ubuntu platform.
Travel domestically and internationally to foster partnerships and support sales efforts.
Support and align internal teams to identify, grow, and transact new business opportunities.
Requirements
Possess outstanding revenue generating experience from the Technology industry, with a proven track record of achieving revenue outstanding results in the technological field.
Deep understanding of Linux and cloud software ecosystem, and open source selling models.
Experience with negotiating contracts and commercial business terms.
Ability to build and expand strategic relationships with partners and customers.
Experience in building and owning the strategy and development of sales engagements.
Experience in growing customers' awareness of open source capabilities on Canonical Ubuntu.
Proven ability to deliver on targets and objectives, and to provide a voice of the partner and or customer.
Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally to drive partnerships in person, including traveling twice a year for company events up to two weeks long and more regularly to meet clients and partners as required.
Experience in aligning and supporting internal Field teams to identify, support, grow, and transact.
Experience working closely with Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Product Management to deliver on targets and objectives.
Ability to lead executive interlocks between partners, customers, and the company's leadership team.
Exceptional academic track record from high school and university, regardless of seniority of current position.
Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about an alternative chosen path.
Confidence to respectfully speak up, exchange feedback, and share ideas without hesitation.
