Job Description
The IoT Solutions Architecture Manager at Canonical will lead a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services, focusing on solution architecture, design, and delivery for secure connected devices. This remote role requires strong Linux expertise, team management skills, and the ability to engage with customers to solve complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services
- Solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members
- Identify and measure team health indicators
- Implement disciplined engineering processes
- Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers
- Develop and evangelize engineering and organizational practices
- Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects
- Collaborate with other leaders as part of the leadership team
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Extensive embedded Linux experience, specifically with Yocto or other similar technologies
- Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu
- Fluency in at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
- Ability to manage a small team
- Experience with customer engagements
- Professional written and spoken English
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
- Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
- An ability to communicate the business benefits of technology
