Job Description
A software engineer role focused on developing and automating high-performance computing (HPC) software within the Ubuntu platform, involving Python development, collaboration with a global team, and working on HPC clusters and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Write high quality, rigorously designed Python software for HPC automation and management
- Collaborate proactively with a globally distributed team to develop and improve HPC solutions
- Debug issues and produce high quality code to resolve technical problems
- Contribute to technical documentation and best practices for HPC operators and software
- Discuss ideas and collaborate on developing effective solutions for HPC challenges
Requirements
- Experience with writing modern, maintainable Python software
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
- Experience with collaborating proactively with a globally distributed team
- Ability to write high quality, rigorously designed Python software
- Ability to debug issues and produce high quality code to fix them
- Ability to contribute to technical documentation that define best practices for authoring high quality operators
- Interest and experience with two or more of the following: Linux, Kubernetes, Public cloud, OpenStack, LXC LXD, Python, Go, Debian packaging
- Strong academic track record from high school and preferably university
- Willingness to work remotely in EMEA or the Americas regions
