A leadership role overseeing a team of cloud solutions engineers, responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting open source cloud technologies for customers, while also participating in technical presales and fostering team development in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of field engineers in presales and professional services.
Solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor.
Deploy, test, and hand over cloud solutions to support or managed services teams.
Participate in technical presales activities to achieve departmental goals.
Represent the team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
Develop engineering talent through coaching, mentoring, and career guidance.
Plan and manage progress on projects and team goals.
Collaborate with other teams and leadership to drive organizational success.
Requirements
Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers, with a track record of developing and growing people.
Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
Experience in technical presales activities, including providing technical advice during sales processes.
Ability to solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor.
Experience in deploying, testing, and handing over cloud solutions like Openstack, MicroCloud, Ceph, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, PostgreSQL, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Organizational skills and ability to ensure the team delivers timely, high-quality results.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including attending internal company events, external tech events, and customer meetings.
An exceptional academic track record from high school and, preferably, university.
Ability to develop engineering talent and represent the team from a technical perspective.
Ability to drive collaboration with other teams and customers.
Active participation in technical presales to help achieve quarterly goals.
Experience working remotely within a single major time zone.
