Job Description

This role involves working under a Licensed Architect to develop technical aspects of architectural projects, including design, coordination, detailing, and site observations, while leading and supervising team members to ensure quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design, production, coordination, and detailing of architectural projects
  • Prepare design sketches and site plans
  • Coordinate engineering systems with consultants and team members
  • Communicate project status, design intent, and updates to stakeholders
  • Perform field site observations and visits
  • Integrate sustainable and performance-based design strategies
  • Ensure technical quality and compliance through QA/QC processes
  • Supervise, train, and lead interns and junior team members
  • Participate in team meetings and project leadership activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience required.
  • Architectural Registration in the United States preferred.
  • CDT and LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
  • Must be a critical thinker and highly analytical.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with the project team and coordinate effectively.
  • Ability to independently contribute to design, production, coordination, and architectural detailing as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience preparing design sketches of moderate to complex site plans.
  • Experience assisting in coordination of engineering systems with engineers and consultants.
  • Experience communicating project status, design intent, construction updates, and other critical information clearly and compellingly to owners, consultants, and clients.
  • Experience performing field site observations, including physically walking through the site.
  • Ability to facilitate integration of performance-based and sustainable design strategies into design solutions.
  • Experience enforcing QA QC process standards and ensuring all statutory project requirements are achieved.
  • Experience supervising, monitoring, training, and directing work of interns and less experienced team members.
  • Experience taking a leadership role within the project team and in team meetings.
