Job Description
This position involves assisting in the design, analysis, and documentation of structural systems for various building types under the supervision of a licensed engineer, utilizing engineering software and BIM tools, with opportunities for field observations and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze structural systems for various building types under supervision
- Perform design calculations using engineering software
- Create BIM models and produce contract documents including plans, sections, and details
- Coordinate structural systems with overall building design with the design team
- Review shop drawings during construction
- Conduct field observations and site walkthroughs during construction
Requirements
- Must have a Master in Civil Engineering with Structural focus, Master in Structural Engineering, or Master of Architectural Engineering Structural emphasis from an ABET accredited program by the hire date.
- Related student internship work experience is preferred.
- EIT (Engineer in Training) and LEED accreditation are preferred.
- Must have strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, RAM, and RISA is required.
- Must be willing to perform overtime work.
- Must be willing to perform field observations during construction, including a physical walk-through of the site.
