Job Description
The Project Engineering Leader will oversee the engineering design team for a large laboratory facility project, ensuring successful execution from design through construction and startup. This role involves managing engineering communication, compliance with regulations, and client engagement while leading a diverse engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the engineering design team for a laboratory facility project.
- Lead and manage the engineering team throughout all project phases.
- Develop and maintain engineering design schedules.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, clients, and stakeholders.
- Review engineering documents for compliance with client goals.
- Provide technical leadership and resolve complex engineering issues.
- Ensure all engineering work complies with regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Create and maintain engineering staffing plans.
- Monitor project financials and ensure adherence to budget.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience required.
- Current PE in either Mechanical or Electrical in the US with the ability to get a PE in California, or current CPD, is required.
- High level specialist in S T projects, especially those with construction values exceeding 300 million.
- Proficient in Deltek or other project resource and financial planning software required.
- Strong project management and relationship management skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions.
- Exceptional client and people leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse engineering team and negotiate win-win design solutions to complex challenges with colleagues and teaming partners.
