Job Description
Assist in the design and modeling of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for various building projects under supervision, including tasks such as drafting, reviewing submittals, and site visits, within a collaborative engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform uncomplicated designs of piping, controls, and equipment selection for Plumbing Fire Protection systems.
- Assist with HVAC system designs as needed.
- Assist in Revit BIM modeling of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC construction drawings.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date
- Knowledge and ability to apply principles and theories of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and advanced fluid dynamics in the design of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems
- Experience in performing uncomplicated designs of piping, controls, and equipment selection for Plumbing Fire Protection systems for building design with appropriate supervision
- Assist with HVAC designs as necessary
- Assist in Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems from schematic design to construction administration phases with supervisory oversight
- Perform Revit BIM modeling for HVAC systems as necessary
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with the contract documents
- Perform job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-through of site
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects
- Related student internship work experience preferred
- EIT or LEED accreditation preferred
