Job Description
The Medical Equipment Planner leads equipment planning projects for healthcare facilities, providing design guidance, technical specifications, and managing budgets and schedules from inception to completion. The role involves collaborating with design and construction teams to optimize equipment layouts, reuse strategies, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead equipment planning projects from inception to completion.
- Provide equipment listings, layouts, and design guidance.
- Develop technical design criteria, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Manage project equipment budgets and schedules in collaboration with teams and clients.
- Lead departmental user meetings to prioritize equipment selections and oversight.
- Coordinate decisions on existing-to-reuse equipment, including inventory management and reuse strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in a design, engineering, science research, healthcare, or a supply chain related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of laboratory or medical equipment planning, healthcare planning, biomedical engineering, or other related industry experience.
- Ability to communicate well with clients, consultants, and supervisory personnel.
- Proficiency in reading and coordinating architectural construction documents.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Reader Bluebeam.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
