Job Description
This internship role involves assisting in the design and modeling of HVAC systems under the supervision of a licensed engineer, with opportunities to participate in construction documentation, site visits, and process improvements within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection under supervision.
- Support Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings for HVAC systems throughout project phases.
- Review and mark up shop drawing submittals for HVAC components.
- Participate in site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
- Enrolled in and working toward a Bachelor or Master s degree in Engineering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs, specifically Revit MEP preferred.
- Ability to perform uncomplicated designs of ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection for HVAC systems for building design under guidance of a licensed engineer.
- Ability to assist in Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings of HVAC systems from Schematic Design to Construction Administration phases under supervision.
- Ability to review and markup shop drawing submittals with supervisory oversight.
- Willingness to visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-through of sites.
