This position may be filled anywhere in the United States. • Research and generate new items and CSI MasterFormat divisions to the database including descriptions, scope clarifications, markups, labor, material, and equipment costs • Update existing unit costs; expand and clarify existing item descriptions and scope • Identify relationships between items, quantities, and costs to combine multiple items into assembly-based unit costs • Evaluate, approve or reject contractor submitted items and costs • Work with contractors, field Account Managers and client Project Managers to determine appropriate item selections, review/verify bid proposals, reconcile item costs and scope, and add new items • Collaborate with other estimators, architects, engineers, client representatives, and other project members • May handle other responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred and 3 years of experience; or 5 years of experience in lieu of formal education • Thorough knowledge of mechanical cost estimating including various commercial building types, mechanical system types, means & methods, and regional market conditions • Ability to adopt and utilize multiple software platforms • Experience with and the ability to apply CSI MasterFormat and UniFormat coding structures • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, collaboration, and time management skills The salary range for this position is $57,600 to $72,000 annually. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We have paid time off, flex-time schedules, remote work options and a 401k plan and employee perk programs. Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level. FOS of CannonDesign is a multidisciplinary professional services and software consultancy founded on the core value that clients are our most important partners. FOS began with a good idea – seeing the need to help facility managers identify what they own, the condition of their facility, and how best to use this data for future capital planning. FOS started as a small operation in 2009 and has grown into a major, multi-office practice that is ranked #1 world-wide for facility-related services by World Architecture 100. Consistent delivery of the best service is what we are about. • We’re about communication and transparency here. If you want to talk to someone about an idea you have, or a challenge that needs addressing, we’re ready for you. Please note that candidates can only apply to our positions on our company Careers site. Should an issue arise that you feel we should be aware of, please contact us. Please provide your resume and portfolio when applying. As a condition of employment, all employees are expected to complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes and adhere to our internal policies and our Code of Conduct.
