Job Description
This intermediate-level interior designer position involves leading project development phases, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, and coordinating design work while mentoring junior staff. The role requires strong design skills, project management abilities, and proficiency in relevant software.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of project goals through all phases of design.
- Evaluate client needs and document design objectives and spatial requirements.
- Research, evaluate, and coordinate furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Coordinate design work and ensure code compliance within the team.
- Develop interior space designs including floor plans, elevations, and finishes.
- Independently evaluate and select materials and consult with vendors.
- Produce drawings in accordance with project time, budget, and quality constraints.
- Assist in project planning and budgeting.
- Lead client meetings as requested.
- Mentor and supervise less experienced design staff.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits and review of submittals.
- Promote design leadership within the practice.
- Assist in marketing campaigns as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture required.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
- Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- Must be design focused.
- Must be an independent thinker.
- Must be analytical.
- Must possess a working knowledge and experience, while still acquiring higher level knowledge.
- Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
- Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
