Job Description

This intermediate-level interior designer position involves leading project development phases, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, and coordinating design work while mentoring junior staff. The role requires strong design skills, project management abilities, and proficiency in relevant software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of project goals through all phases of design.
  • Evaluate client needs and document design objectives and spatial requirements.
  • Research, evaluate, and coordinate furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Coordinate design work and ensure code compliance within the team.
  • Develop interior space designs including floor plans, elevations, and finishes.
  • Independently evaluate and select materials and consult with vendors.
  • Produce drawings in accordance with project time, budget, and quality constraints.
  • Assist in project planning and budgeting.
  • Lead client meetings as requested.
  • Mentor and supervise less experienced design staff.
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits and review of submittals.
  • Promote design leadership within the practice.
  • Assist in marketing campaigns as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
  • Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • Must be design focused.
  • Must be an independent thinker.
  • Must be analytical.
  • Must possess a working knowledge and experience, while still acquiring higher level knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
