This position involves assisting in the design and documentation of interior spaces, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team throughout all project phases, and supporting client interactions, with a focus on creativity, technical skills, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Senior Interior Designer and Project Manager in executing project goals across all phases including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
Develop interior space designs through planning and three-dimensional studies, including creating drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and details.
Support furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specifications throughout project phases.
Produce drawings that meet project time, cost, and quality constraints, and ensure compliance with building and life safety codes.
Prepare renderings and presentation materials, following company drawing standards.
Participate in client meetings to gain interaction and presentation experience.
Assist in construction administration activities such as site visits, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch lists.
Mentor less experienced interior design staff and guide the development of project documents.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required
Minimum of 4 years of related experience required
Current NCIDQ certification is preferred
Must be able to participate in the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content
Strong creative design portfolio is essential
Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required
Ability to assist in the execution of project goals throughout all phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration
Ability to independently assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces including drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, etc.
Ability to produce drawings in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints
Ability to identify, research, and apply building and life safety codes to applicable interior design work
Ability to prepare renderings and other presentation materials
Ability to participate in client meetings and construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list
Willingness to travel as required
Physical ability to conduct site visits that frequently require a physical walk-through of the site
