Job Description

This position involves assisting in the design and documentation of interior spaces, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team throughout all project phases, and supporting client interactions, with a focus on creativity, technical skills, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Interior Designer and Project Manager in executing project goals across all phases including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Develop interior space designs through planning and three-dimensional studies, including creating drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and details.
  • Support furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specifications throughout project phases.
  • Produce drawings that meet project time, cost, and quality constraints, and ensure compliance with building and life safety codes.
  • Prepare renderings and presentation materials, following company drawing standards.
  • Participate in client meetings to gain interaction and presentation experience.
  • Assist in construction administration activities such as site visits, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch lists.
  • Mentor less experienced interior design staff and guide the development of project documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience required
  • Current NCIDQ certification is preferred
  • Must be able to participate in the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content
  • Strong creative design portfolio is essential
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required
  • Ability to assist in the execution of project goals throughout all phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration
  • Ability to independently assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces including drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, etc.
  • Ability to produce drawings in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints
  • Ability to identify, research, and apply building and life safety codes to applicable interior design work
  • Ability to prepare renderings and other presentation materials
  • Ability to participate in client meetings and construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Physical ability to conduct site visits that frequently require a physical walk-through of the site
