This position involves supporting the interior design team through various project phases, including design development, documentation, material selection, and presentation preparation, with a focus on interior spaces and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the design team in all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
Support interior space design development and documentation, including creating drawings of floor plans, elevations, details, and finishes.
Conduct research for product and finish selections and assist in developing finish plans and specifications.
Help prepare presentation materials, including computerized renderings and other visual aids.
Produce drawings and support project functions while adhering to project constraints and standards.
Assist in selecting and considering building materials, furnishings, and interior finishes.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
Strong creative design portfolio is essential.
Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
Ability to assist in all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
Ability to assist with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specification throughout all phases of interior design work.
Ability to assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces, including drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, pattern plans, elevations, details, and room finishes.
Ability to conduct research for product and finish selections and assist in the development of finish plans and specifications.
Familiarity with building and life safety codes and their correct application to Interior Design work.
Ability to assist in preparing presentation materials, including computerized renderings and other presentation formats.
Ability to produce drawings and perform support functions in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints.
Ability to follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
Ability to assist in the selection or consideration of building materials such as flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, furnishings, and other interior materials.
Ability to organize and update the Interior Design library by maintaining materials as determined by office needs (if applicable).
Ability to order samples and materials from vendors.
Willingness to travel as required.
Ability to complete mandatory compliance training and adhere to internal policies and Code of Conduct as a condition of employment.
