An entry-level interior design position focused on supporting project phases, including design development, documentation, and client presentations, within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the design team in all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration
Support furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selections, layouts, and documentation throughout interior design phases
Contribute to the development and documentation of interior space drawings such as floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and details
Conduct research for product and finish selections and assist in developing finish plans and specifications
Apply building and life safety codes correctly to interior design work
Prepare computerized renderings and presentation materials
Produce drawings and support project functions within time, cost, and quality constraints
Follow company drawing standards and maintain the Interior Design library as needed
Order samples and materials from vendors
Visit job sites to verify conditions and observe construction progress
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required by hire date.
Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
Ability to assist with all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration under supervision.
Ability to assist with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selections, layouts, and documentation throughout all phases of interior design work.
Ability to assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces, including drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, pattern plans, elevations, details, and room finishes.
Ability to conduct research for product and finish selections and assist in the development of finish plans and specifications.
Ability to become familiar with building and life safety codes and their correct application to Interior Design work.
Ability to assist in preparing computerized renderings and other presentation materials.
Ability to produce drawings and perform support functions in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints.
Willingness to travel as required.
Physical ability to perform site visits, including walking through construction sites to verify existing conditions and observe progress.
