Job Description

The role involves leading the integration of immersive technologies such as VR, AR, and MR into design processes, client engagement, and project delivery within an innovative architecture and design firm, requiring strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an immersive technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in design visualization and experiential storytelling
  • Evaluate and deploy VR, AR, MR platforms, and 3D visualization tools, ensuring integration with design software
  • Stay current with emerging immersive technologies and trends
  • Lead research and development into new immersive workflows and pilot proof-of-concept projects
  • Build internal capabilities through training programs and workshops
  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for immersive tools within the firm
  • Collaborate with design teams, practice leaders, and marketing to deliver immersive experiences for clients
  • Support the integration of visualization into computational design and digital storytelling initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design Technology, Interactive Media Design, or related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in immersive technology or visualization within AEC or similar industries.
  • Expertise in VR, AR, MR platforms and 3D modeling tools.
  • Strong understanding of the AEC industry.
  • Experience evaluating and deploying VR, AR, MR platforms and 3D visualization tools, and ensuring seamless integration with design software such as Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, and collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to develop and implement an immersive technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for innovation in design visualization and experiential storytelling.
  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies, driving research and development, piloting new workflows, and establishing proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate value.
  • Experience building internal capability through training programs and workshops.
  • Ability to act as a mentor and subject matter expert for immersive tools within the firm.
  • Experience partnering with design teams, practice leaders, and marketing to deliver immersive experiences for clients, including pursuit proposals, interviews, and project presentations.
  • Experience supporting the integration of visualization into computational design and digital storytelling initiatives.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation through strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Business acumen and ability to execute strategy.
  • Experience managing complex projects and cross-functional teams.
