This position involves electrical engineering design and project management for building construction projects across various sectors such as healthcare, education, and commercial, including preparing construction documents, overseeing site visits, and guiding team members under the supervision of a senior engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in project planning sessions and lead as needed
Perform electrical systems design for building construction, including lighting, power, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems
Prepare construction documents such as drawings and specifications
Guide less experienced team members in drawing execution
Specify electrical equipment and complete quality control checks on engineering documents
Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
Attend and participate in construction meetings
Requirements
Minimum of 6 years of related electrical engineering experience required.
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States required.
Experience in electrical systems design for building construction, including lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, higher education, and commercial clients per applicable codes.
Ability to prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications.
Experience in guiding less experienced team members in the execution of drawings.
Ability to specify electrical equipment.
Experience in completing quality control checks of engineering documents and layout systems regarding components and parts.
Experience participating in value engineering sessions with Architectural Engineering teams.
Ability to review and markup shop drawings and submittals.
Ability to respond to RFI’s and review change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
Experience conducting job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-throughs of the site.
Ability to attend and participate in construction meetings.
Proficiency in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
