The Senior Process Engineer leads process design, evaluation, and technical support for refinery and chemical process units, including calculations, documentation, and client coordination, to optimize industrial facilities and licensed technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead field and technical evaluations of existing process units
Provide technical direction for refinery and chemical process units and licensed technologies
Perform calculations, develop PFDs and P IDs, and create design documentation for downstream engineering disciplines
Develop equipment specifications and compile scope of work packages for construction
Lead client and contractor interface, attend meetings, and prepare reports
Provide technical support for field execution, including outage turnaround projects
Assist in constructability planning, proposal development, and estimate preparation
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering
P.E. licensure (Professional Engineer license)
Knowledge of P ID development, heat and material balances, hydraulic and equipment sizing calculations, relief device sizing, API standards, and ASME codes
Strong technical knowledge of refinery and chemical plant unit operations and licensed technologies
Mentoring and leading teams experience
Ability to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on any field assignment
Physical mobility on the ground and at heights
Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms and scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks, respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots
Ability to position oneself to work in confined spaces
Willingness to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
Willingness to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
