Job Description

The Associate Structural Engineer is responsible for leading field evaluations of industrial structures, analyzing data, developing models, and designing rehabilitation or replacement plans, while supporting structural construction and professional development in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field evaluations of existing industrial structures
  • Develop calculations and analytical models for steel, concrete, and other materials
  • Design rehabilitation or replacement plans for structures
  • Specify materials and write technical reports
  • Provide technical support and quality control during structural construction

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering
  • E.I.T. licensure required; P.E. licensure preferred
  • Knowledge of STAAD SAP, ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC required
  • Familiarity with AWS D.1. code required
  • AutoCAD proficiency preferred
  • Basic team coordination experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to lead field evaluation of existing structures
  • Ability to develop calculations and analytical models in steel, concrete, and other materials
  • Ability to design rehabilitation and/or replacement plans
  • Ability to specify materials and write reports
  • Technical support for and quality control of structural construction required
  • Must be able to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments
  • Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE
  • Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces
  • Must adhere to client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
  • Must meet client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
