Job Description
The Vice President of Human Resources at Blue Ridge Power is responsible for overseeing all HR functions, including employee relations, talent recruitment, and performance management, while contributing to strategic planning and fostering a high-performance culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the HR function including Employee Relations, Organizational Development, Talent Recruitment, Performance Management, and Compensation and Benefits.
- Participate in strategic planning and corporate policy development.
- Consult on diversity, workforce, and business issues impacting the organization.
- Design, develop, and execute HR strategies, policies, procedures, and programs.
- Provide advice and assistance to department leaders on HR policies and practices.
- Coordinate with leadership and legal counsel on HR matters.
- Oversee recruitment efforts including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
- Manage the performance management system and standards of performance.
- Develop and administer compensation, benefits, and rewards programs.
- Ensure compliance with employment, wage, and salary laws and regulations.
- Foster a culture of employee engagement and continuous improvement.
- Handle complex employee relations issues.
- Develop the annual budget for HR operations.
- Implement a strategic organizational development plan.
- Oversee risk management activities related to HR.
Requirements
- 12 years experience in progressive human resources and organizational development leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading change and influencing across functional lines to create a unified approach to managing the department.
- Broad knowledge and expertise in employment law, compensation, HR systems, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, safety, training and development, best practices, and awareness of emergent HR issues.
- Ability to work in a small, fast-paced environment, multi-project environment, meeting commitments and deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with all levels, internally and externally.
- Ability to effectively address and resolve highly confidential and sensitive matters.
- Models trustworthiness and highly ethical behavior.
- Display excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong emotional intelligence, coaching, change management, and business acumen.
- Prior experience with ADP systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- 20-30% travel is required to our offices and business travel, when necessary.
