Job Description
The Project Executive at Blue Ridge Power oversees the construction and execution of utility solar projects, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality standards are met through effective management of teams, subcontractors, and project documentation.
Responsibilities
- •Manage construction project execution, including schedules, budgets, and performance metrics for multiple solar projects
- •Oversee project safety performance and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- •Coordinate and manage all project subcontractors, field staff, and documentation
- •Perform design reviews of vendor drawings, calculations, and specifications
- •Lead or participate in daily project meetings and review project execution plans and schedules
- •Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans
- •Monitor and control project costs, schedule, and progress, including analyzing forecast reports
- •Execute and manage EPC contracts and obligations
- •Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure project delivery and quality control
- •Manage contract scope, change management, and procurement processes
- •Review and approve project expenditures and financial reports
- •Represent the company in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities
- •Ensure contractors meet safety and quality standards through inspections and reporting
- •Coordinate project licensing and permitting with local authorities
Requirements
- •20 years of progressive experience in Commercial Building Construction or other similar industries as a Construction Project Manager or higher.
- •Strong project management skills including budget adherence and cost control measures.
- •Experience dealing with vendors, subcontracts, subcontractors, and or self-performance work.
- •Experience leading successful project teams, including the development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities.
- •Working knowledge of project scheduling concepts, techniques, and software such as MS-Project, Primavera P6, or other related industry scheduling tools.
- •Working knowledge of MS Office suite, including advanced use of MS Excel.
- •Multi-project execution experience with solar utility projects ranging from 100MW.
- •Experience with directly managing craft labor and equipment.
- •Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with all levels of the organization.
- •Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
- •Possess integrity and commitment to compliance.
- •Ability to review and understand multi-trade construction drawings and specifications, as well as construction best practices across an array of trades, including surveying, civil, structural, thermal and moisture protection, and electrical construction.
- •Ability to work independently, multi-task, make decisions, prioritize, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- •Strong work ethic, a high degree of detail orientation, and an extreme sense of urgency.
- •Must possess and maintain a current valid driver’s license.
