Job Description
The Foreman, Electrical is an entry-level field management position responsible for leading small crews in the installation of solar infrastructure, ensuring safety compliance, and assisting with daily planning and communication of tasks and issues in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead small crews of 5-10 employees safely and productively.
- Plan daily tasks for crew members.
- Assist in daily tracking, planning, and communication of field issues.
- Create material lists in collaboration with electrical supervision.
- Understand and implement quality control measures.
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for proper operating conditions.
- Follow safety rules and company policies.
- Understand and communicate construction documents and layouts.
- Complete Job Hazard Analysis forms.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lead small crews of 5-10 employees safely and productively.
- Thorough understanding of all facets of blueprint reading and details.
- Ability to understand construction documents and layout work in the field for crews.
- Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies.
- Ability to understand and communicate information and work in a team environment.
- Must be able to perform all work in a safe manner and comply with all applicable safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Basic understanding of construction math.
- Basic reading and comprehension skills.
- Ability to create a 1 week look ahead in collaboration with electrical supervision.
- Ability to create material list in collaboration with electrical supervision.
- General understanding of quality control and how to implement quality control.
- Must understand Job Hazard Analysis documents and how to properly fill out JHA forms.
- Must be capable of receiving and following directions.
- Must assist team members with any issued work assignments and ensure that production is consistent and documented.
- Must have basic analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
- Ability to handle criticism appropriately.
- Must maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
- Must operate vehicles and equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Must inspect vehicles and equipment for proper operating conditions.
- Must understand the proper use and maintenance of hand tools.
- Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short to long distances for 8-10 hours a day.
- Must be able to tolerate working in an outdoor environment in all climates.
