Job Description
The Electrical Project Supervisor at Blue Ridge Power is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and success of solar project installations, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion while leading a team and collaborating with project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and ensure the success of assigned projects.
- Create resource loading charts based on units of measures and budgets.
- Communicate and coordinate with site management on workflow and production plans.
- Develop project-specific standard operating procedures for construction and safety.
- Lead project execution and construction activities.
- Utilize project controls for project execution benefits.
- Develop detailed electrical construction schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the construction team and field inquiries.
- Assist Project Manager with monthly financial projections for projects.
- Ensure a safe construction site and high-quality installations.
- Comprehend and execute contracts effectively.
- Identify design changes and assist with pricing scope adjustments.
- Generate and track RFIs and implement responses.
- Maintain accurate file storage and completion drawings.
- Adopt best practices uniformly throughout the project.
- Lead continuous improvement of processes and standards.
- Assist with weekly safety meetings and lead toolbox talks.
- Promote a safety culture with full engagement from the field team.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a Superintendent or General Foreman role.
- Experience working on a 100MW project or larger in the utility-scale solar renewable energy industry.
- Prior experience managing and leading a large team.
- Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Advanced knowledge of technology, installation methods, heavy equipment, and hand tools.
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
- Demonstrated ability to control and supervise a large team.
- Understanding of cloud-based technology and how to utilize it.
- Knowledge of the use and operation of equipment and heavy equipment found on a PV site.
- Thorough understanding of all scopes of work of PV installation.
- Ability to multitask and demonstrate time management.
- Ability to complete and finish assigned tasks.
- Ability to read and comprehend project drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to forecast the next steps in a process and implement a 6-week look ahead.
- Basic understanding and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint).
- Ability to organize and manage file systems for all involved.
- Recognizing scope changes and principles of estimating.
- Ability to identify and embrace coaching and training opportunities for direct reports.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must possess and maintain a current driver's license.
- 100% travel to assigned projects, requiring flexibility in traveling to multiple states.
- Must possess reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel for extended periods to various locations.
- Must follow organization policies and procedures.
- Individuals in this position work in an outdoor environment and must be able to tolerate all climates.
- May require lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short to long distances for 8-10 hours daily.
