Job Description
The Test Engineer at Blue Current will be responsible for developing and managing testing processes for next-generation solid-state battery chemistries, collaborating with various teams to enhance battery testing systems, and ensuring data integrity in the test lab.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a formalized test request and battery test management system
- Collaborate across functional teams to source and install new battery test hardware
- Train technicians and manage daily operations in the test lab
- Develop test protocols and work with technical staff to determine optimal test protocols
- Develop systems and methods for monitoring the totality of the test lab
- Collaborate with data systems and IT teams to ensure data access, integrity, and backup
Requirements
- BS or equivalent work experience in a technical field
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in an industry R&D environment testing batteries, electrical components, or similar devices
- Ability to substantially advance existing testing systems
- Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to develop test and data management systems
- Independent and hands-on engineer with a passion for data integrity and systems development
- Required to wear personal protective equipment when applicable
- Able to pass a respirator fit test and wear a respirator periodically
- Able to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments with chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and electrical hazards
