Job Description
The Sr. Director, Procurement at Avantus will lead the global sourcing strategy for solar PV storage systems and components, focusing on maximizing value across projects while managing complex transactions and supplier relationships. This role requires strong organizational skills and industry knowledge to drive best practices in procurement and ensure quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive global sourcing of storage systems and components, focusing on Battery Energy Storage Solutions.
- Build strategic sourcing capabilities for energy storage systems in solar projects.
- Create and implement best practices for large scale procurement processes.
- Lead complex transactions involving multiple supply, integration, construction, and O&M contracts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate commercial factors in early-stage negotiations.
- Develop and implement supplier development and relationship management processes.
- Analyze and manage risk in vendor contracting and maintain supplier quality standards.
- Work with Engineering and other functions to negotiate contracts with appropriate terms and conditions.
- Create and implement performance metrics for external suppliers and the procurement organization.
- Develop a proactive supplier development program with the Engineering team.
Requirements
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task and manage tight timelines.
- Effective in working with multiple stakeholders and within cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM, MBA, or demonstrated experience in driving procurement and/or transactions.
- 5-10 years of increasingly progressive procurement and/or transactions experience.
- 1 year of experience with Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS).
- Experience with a solar power developer or an asset-heavy organization with a large CAPEX expenditure.
