Job Description
The Sr. Director, Asset Management is responsible for managing the profitability and commercial contracts of multiple utility-scale solar PV projects, developing profit maximization strategies, and overseeing asset performance and operational efficiency within Avantus's renewable energy portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage P&L and commercial contracts for utility-scale solar PV projects.
- Develop and execute profit maximization strategies for contracted assets.
- Coordinate onboarding of new assets and implement asset optimization strategies.
- Oversee technical and financial aspects of operational projects.
- Conduct asset performance reviews, forecasting, budgeting, and profitability reporting.
- Coordinate asset needs across internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor plant conditions and operational performance of physical assets.
- Ensure compliance with power purchase agreements and financing covenants.
- Support regulatory and legislative initiatives with trade groups.
- Assist in the development of strategic business plans and partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, or business.
- At least 3 years in a similar role managing, operating, or maintaining renewable generation facilities.
- Knowledge of various commercial structures in the power sector including power purchase agreements, tolls, various hedging structures, and merchant positions.
- Familiarity with project finance, tax equity and capital structures.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and perform job tasks independently in an unstructured remote environment with limited direction.
- Ability to interact and communicate well with individuals in all areas of the company and outside stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently take the initiative to lead discussions around unresolved issues, ensuring clear direction and correct resolution.
- Competency with process improvement, relationship building, written and verbal communication, and critical thinking.
- Maintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity in all dealings inside and outside the organization.
- Ability to professionally manage highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and various other business applications.
