Job Description
The Aurora Driver role involves safely operating autonomous semi-trucks for testing and development purposes, providing real-time feedback to engineers, and supporting the advancement of self-driving technology in a regional trucking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pilot autonomous semi trucks during on-road and closed course testing.
- Monitor the Aurora Driver and platform performance in real-time during testing.
- Log feedback on autonomy and platform performance for engineering analysis.
- Escalate operational issues with suggested solutions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to demonstrate positive impact.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of self-driving technology and software changes.
- Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience driving trucks commercially
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Interstate Class-A Commercial Driver's License
- Driving record must pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) guidelines
- Ability to travel as needed
- Available to work day and or night shifts, second and or third shift, including rotating shifts as needed
- Ability to work some overtime and weekends
- Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts
- Must spend up to 80% of shift time in the vehicle, which will serve as the office
- Must pass pre-employment, post-incident, and randomized drug testing in accordance with FMCSA requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass DOT physical
- Meet all DOT qualifications
Benefits & Perks
Compensation hourly wage range of $30.00 - $36.00 per hour, plus eligibility for an annual bonus and equity compensation
Work schedule of 4x10s shifts, with home daily, regional relay shifts available in the AM and PM
Work environment involves extended shifts of 10-12 hours, with 80% of shift time spent in the vehicle
