Job Description

The Strategic Workforce Planning Lead at Aurora is responsible for designing and implementing workforce strategies, analyzing talent needs, and partnering with leadership to ensure organizational capabilities align with business goals in a fast-paced, innovative environment focused on self-driving technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a comprehensive Strategic Workforce Planning framework to analyze current workforce capabilities and forecast future talent needs.
  • Conduct strategic forecasting, demand forecasting, and gap analysis to project staffing requirements based on business goals.
  • Evaluate internal workforce supply, including skills, attrition, and turnover, to identify gaps and surpluses.
  • Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align workforce strategies with business objectives, budget, and headcount projections.
  • Develop data-driven models, dashboards, and reports to track workforce metrics, trends, and the effectiveness of SWP initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure hiring plans align with financial budgets and long-term financial plans.
  • Recommend optimal resource mix and location strategies to maximize efficiency and talent availability.
  • Identify critical talent gaps and develop mitigation strategies such as build, buy, or borrow approaches.
  • Identify and prioritize emerging skills, including AI proficiency, and map skills to future needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a strong focus on Workforce Planning.
  • Proven experience partnering directly with C-suite executives within a rapidly scaling organization.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing Strategic Workforce Planning frameworks and models.
  • Highly proficient in using Workday and other systems tools to extract, analyze, and present data-driven insights to senior leaders.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively address all organizational levels.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. approximately 10% of the time.
  • This role requires the candidate to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
