Job Description
The Staff, SI PI Engineer at Aurora is responsible for leading signal and power integrity implementation in autonomous vehicle hardware systems, developing simulation methodologies, modeling high-speed interfaces, and validating high-speed electrical connections to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) implementation in autonomous driving hardware systems, sensors, and hardware designs.
- Develop and execute simulation methodologies for PCB, high-speed channels, and SoC to optimize SI and PI performance.
- Model complex 3D structures such as PCB connectors and cables, and extract high-speed channel characteristics.
- Validate high-speed interfaces in laboratory settings using high-end test equipment like VNA, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
Requirements
- Lead Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) implementation in advanced autonomous driving hardware systems, sensors, and hardnesses.
- Develop and implement simulation methodology for PCB, high-speed channel, and SoC to optimize SI and PI performance.
- Model complex 3D structures, such as PCB connectors and cables.
- Extract and characterize high-speed channels and compliance against industry standards.
- Lead high-speed interfaces validation in lab with high-end scope, VNA, and spectrum analyzer.
- Possess a MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Degree.
- Have at least 10 years of industry experience.
- Experience with design and implementation of high-speed electrical interfaces, such as PCIe Gen4 and Gen5, high-speed or automotive Ethernet, DDR, LPDDR4/5, MIPI, HDMI, USB, etc.
- Good electromagnetic (EM) knowledge and proficiency with SI/PI simulation tools, such as HFSS, SIwave, ADS, or Cadence Sigrity.
- Solid understanding of transmission line theory, S-parameters, signal processing, PCB material, stackup, and fabrication process.
- Strong lab skills and experience with VNA, real-time scope, spectrum analyzer, TDR, etc.
