Job Description
The Software Engineer will develop and maintain backend systems for evaluating and resolving map issues to support Aurora's self-driving vehicle technology, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality HD maps for autonomous driving operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop software for detection, reporting, and resolution of map issues
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems for map quality evaluation
- Develop and scale services and infrastructure for map evaluation and issue-reporting pipelines
- Collaborate with routing, localization, and mapping teams to define APIs and ensure data integration
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within distributed safety-critical systems
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- At least 4 years of industry experience building software in a production environment
- Proficiency with developing backend systems using gRPC and SQL databases in Python
- Experience with software design in complex systems with many dependencies
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Developing software in Python and C, using modern best practices
- Troubleshooting and solving complex issues within distributed safety-critical systems
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $146,000 - $234,000 per year
Hybrid work environment with in-office presence at least 3 days per week
