Job Description
The Software Engineer II will develop vehicle simulation models, build data pipelines, and analyze data to enhance the safety and performance of Aurora's self-driving technology, operating at the intersection of machine learning, software engineering, and vehicle dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop PyTorch-based vehicle models for controls V V
- Design and implement differentiable vehicle dynamics simulation pipelines
- Build and maintain software pipelines to generate simulation scenarios from logs
- Create data structures and algorithms to categorize control scenarios for dataset sourcing
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree (BS) or Master's degree (MS) in Computer Science, Robotics, Data Science, or a related engineering field.
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience with a focus on data-intensive applications or machine learning.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Proficiency in C programming language necessary for integrating with on-vehicle or production codebases.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch or similar machine learning frameworks.
- Experience working with large datasets, SQL, and data processing pipelines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable engineering insights.
