Job Description
The Software Engineer II at Aurora will develop and maintain data pipelines, tools, and systems to validate and optimize autonomous vehicle behavior, supporting the scaling of Aurora's self-driving technology in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for behavior validation and evaluation of the Motion Planner.
- Create tools to accelerate the development and evaluation of autonomy software.
- Develop visualization, introspection, and performance analysis tools for autonomy systems.
- Optimize validation processes to improve the performance of the autonomy system.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, cloud, and safety teams to deliver validation datasets on time.
Requirements
- Experience with modern programming languages such as Python or C.
- Experience with developing in a Linux or Unix environment.
- Experience with developing data pipelines such as Airflow, Buildkite or Step Functions.
- Experience with cloud offerings such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience with cloud storages such as S3, Postgres and Redis.
- Experience with communication protocols such as HTTP and gRPC.
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
