Job Description
The role involves leading the development of fleet management software for autonomous vehicles, including designing scalable frontend architectures, building new features, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable safe and efficient autonomous fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services, web apps, mobile apps, and real-time onboard code for autonomous vehicle fleet management.
- Design, develop, and scale fleet management tools, including assigning work to vehicles, remote support, and order management.
- Lead the development of frontend architecture for Aurora Services Apps to support scalable fleet operations.
- Design complex systems from the ground up in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Implement and maintain a micro-frontend architecture in AWS cloud for fleet monitoring and management.
- Create shared components and services across the engineering team.
- Establish infrastructure and technology standards to ensure high availability and reliability of products.
- Contribute to team culture through mentorship, feedback, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
- Engage with product, design, and operations teams to understand requirements and ensure successful product lifecycle management.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of experience in building Web Applications with modern web architecture such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience with web communication protocols, including REST, gRPC, and GraphQL.
- Experience with building large scale frontend application frameworks with multiple frontend teams.
- Phenomenal communication skills, including the ability to write effective technical specifications, provide feedback, translate technical concepts into lay terms, and incorporate feedback into efforts.
- Ability to design complex systems from the ground up, partnering closely with Software, Hardware, and Infrastructure engineering teams.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining a micro-frontend architecture running in the AWS cloud used to monitor and manage the entire Aurora Commercial Fleet.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining shared components and services across the entire Aurora Services Engineering team.
- Ability to establish technology and infrastructure to scale products with high availability and reliability.
- Motivation to own the product lifecycle end to end, including engaging with product and design teams and internal customers to understand needs and ensure product development stays on course through release and post-release support.
