Job Description

The Fleet Operations Technician at Aurora is responsible for maintaining and repairing autonomous vehicle fleet vehicles, performing diagnostics, routine OEM maintenance, and collaborating with hardware and software teams to ensure vehicle safety, quality, and performance, primarily during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain fleet vehicles through routine OEM maintenance and complex mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Perform diagnostics, vehicle upgrades, and test plans in collaboration with Vehicle Operations, Software, and Hardware teams
  • Document findings, communicate issues, and escalate data as needed
  • Build and set up test rigs for mechanical and electrical testing across multiple teams
  • Assemble parts or jigs for prototypes and mechanical fabrication
  • Provide feedback and suggest process improvements for workshop standards and protocols

Requirements

  • At least 3-6 years OEM Technician Experience
  • At least 2 years diesel experience
  • Solid diagnostics chops with experience using OEM diagnostic tools, methodologies, and a logical troubleshooting approach
  • Valid US driver s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently throughout the duration of the day
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including early mornings, late nights, day or night shifts, and work regular overtime and some weekends
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Basic knowledge of DOT and CVSA rules and requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic workshop etiquette and provide verbal and written communication across all teams
  • Safety conscious and knowledge of general shop safety
  • Mechanical aptitude including assembling or building parts or jigs for prototypes, proficiency with mechanical fabrication tools such as drill press, saws, hand tools, etc.
  • Experience performing routine OEM maintenance, complex mechanical and electrical repairs, diagnostics, test-plans, and vehicle upgrades
  • Experience documenting and communicating findings through process and systems
  • Ability to build and set up test rigs for mechanical and electrical tests across multiple teams
  • Ability to provide feedback, create, and implement processes and suggestions to improve workshop standards, protocols, and processes

Hourly wage range of $35.50 to $42.50 per hour
Eligibility for an annual bonus

Hybrid work environment with in-office presence at least 3 days per week
