Job Description
A Senior Land Planner is responsible for designing site layouts, grading plans, and landscape architecture for development projects, collaborating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulations while utilizing analytical skills and design software.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative site layouts maximizing functionality while adhering to zoning laws and environmental considerations
- Create and review grading plans to optimize site drainage and ensure construction feasibility
- Collaborate on landscape design elements integrating aesthetic and ecological considerations
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to present design concepts and address feedback
- Utilize analytical and critical thinking skills to identify challenges and develop effective solutions throughout the planning process
- Stay informed about local regulations, environmental policies, and industry trends to ensure project compliance and innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in land planning and development.
- Experience working in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County preferred.
- Strong understanding of grading, site design, and landscape architecture principles.
- Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp, and other relevant tools.
- Ability to develop innovative site layouts that maximize functionality while adhering to zoning laws and environmental considerations.
- Ability to create and review grading plans to optimize site drainage and prepare for construction, ensuring feasibility and efficiency.
- Ability to collaborate on landscape design elements, integrating aesthetic and ecological considerations into project plans.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, presenting design concepts and addressing feedback.
- Utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to identify potential challenges and develop effective solutions throughout the planning process.
- Stay informed about local regulations, environmental policies, and industry trends to ensure project compliance and innovation.
