Job Description
The role involves managing civil engineering projects by collaborating with teams, analyzing survey data, preparing reports, supporting construction activities, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities for professional growth into a Project Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the production team to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
- Analyze project survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, surveys, and easements
- Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient execution of project tasks
- Prepare technical reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies and storm sewer reports
- Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring with potential to advance to a Project Manager role
Requirements
- Must have experience in project management within civil engineering, with the ability to guide and assist junior staff and ensure project-based tasks are executed accurately and efficiently.
- Proficiency in preparing a wide range of reports, opinions, and recommendations related to hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, storm sewer reports, and other technical engineering documents.
- Ability to analyze existing site conditions by working with project survey data, legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents, and serve as the go-to expert for data-related tasks.
- Experience in providing construction-related services, including permit applications and quantity estimates, and supporting the construction process to turn plans into reality.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages to complete assignments on time and within budget.
- Educational background in Civil Engineering or related field (implied by the technical nature of the role).
