Job Description
The Project Manager role in Atwell's Civil Engineering group involves managing diverse land development projects, collaborating on site plans and construction documents, analyzing survey data, mentoring junior staff, and utilizing engineering software to ensure project success and growth into future leadership positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the production team to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
- Analyze survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, easements, and condo documents
- Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient execution of project tasks
- Prepare engineering reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies and storm sewer reports
- Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring with the potential to advance into a Project Manager role
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering license or the ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe.
- Experience in civil engineering project management, including assisting with drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents.
- Proficiency in analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents.
- Experience in guiding and assisting junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient project task execution.
- Ability to prepare a wide range of engineering reports, opinions, and recommendations, including hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports.
- Experience providing construction-related services such as permit applications and quantity estimates.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages.
- Ability to develop project schedules and manage project timelines to ensure completion on time and within budget.
- Willingness and ability to develop project management skills through training and mentoring, with the goal of growing into a Project Manager role.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with the production team on project plans and documents.
- Physical ability to perform site inspections and fieldwork as required.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
