Job Description

The Project Engineer will lead civil engineering projects focused on public infrastructure such as roadways, utilities, and stormwater systems, overseeing design, permitting, project management, and client engagement to support community development and firm growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead civil engineering projects focused on public infrastructure such as roadways, utilities, stormwater management, and municipal facilities.
  • Apply engineering principles to design and develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal and transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Manage projects throughout their lifecycle, from planning and design to construction administration, ensuring compliance with budgets, schedules, and regulations.
  • Navigate permitting processes and ensure regulatory compliance with local, county, and state agencies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with municipal clients, public agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Assist in business development by identifying new project opportunities and preparing proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC ABET Accredited University
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure is required
  • Experience with public works projects in Washington State is preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD is preferred
  • Ability to apply engineering principles and best practices to public works projects, including roadway design, water wastewater systems, stormwater management, and site grading
  • Experience managing projects from planning and preliminary design through construction administration, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to prepare and review design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal and transportation infrastructure projects
  • Experience navigating local and county-level permitting processes for public infrastructure projects
  • Ability to work with municipal agencies, DOT, and other government entities to secure approvals and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to address complex permitting and environmental challenges
  • Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with municipal clients, public agencies, and community stakeholders
  • Ability to assist in business development by identifying new opportunities and preparing proposals for public works projects
