An Electrical Designer responsible for creating electrical design drawings for oil and gas projects, including pipelines and facilities, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance with codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare electrical design drawings for oil and gas projects using AutoCAD, including one-line diagrams, conduit and cable routing, wiring, grounding, and lighting drawings.
Interpret complex sketches, specifications, and logic diagrams to develop system, structure, and equipment designs.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Perform voltage drop and conduit fill calculations.
Maintain and manage CAD specifications, templates, and design models.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience drafting in the oil and gas industry.
Advanced skills using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD and other 3D modeling software.
Competent with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
Experience in preparing electrical design drawings such as one-line diagrams, area classification, conduit and cable routing, interconnect wiring, grounding, electrical details, and lighting drawings, as well as conduit and cable schedules and panel schedules.
Experience interpreting complex sketches, red lines, specification outlines, or logic diagrams to prepare designs of systems, structures, equipment, plant components or assemblies.
Knowledge of well pads, pipeline facilities, metering stations, and booster stations.
Ability to produce assigned deliverables without constant supervision.
Designs must adhere to applicable codes, standards, project-specific requirements, and procedures, including the National Electrical Code.
Knowledge and application of design codes and regulations, especially the National Electrical Code.
Responsible for maintenance and management of CAD specifications, templates, and design models.
Ability to perform voltage drop and conduit fill calculations.
