Job Description
A civil engineering role involving project collaboration, data analysis, technical report preparation, construction support, and software proficiency, with opportunities for leadership development and career growth within a dynamic consulting and engineering firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the production team to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
- Analyze project survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, surveys, and easement documents
- Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient completion of project tasks
- Prepare technical reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports
- Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring, with growth potential into a Project Manager role
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages to ensure assignments are completed on time and within budget.
- Experience in collaborating closely with the production team to assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents.
- Ability to analyze project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents, to assess existing site conditions.
- Experience in preparing a wide range of reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports.
- Ability to provide construction-related services including permit applications and quantity estimates, and direct junior team members in these tasks.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to guide and assist junior staff, ensuring project tasks are executed accurately and efficiently.
- Technical expertise in engineering principles and practices relevant to civil engineering projects.
- Experience in developing project schedules and storm sewer reports, and preparing technical reports and opinions.
- Ability to develop project management skills through training and mentoring with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil engineering or related field.
- Educational background in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline (specific degree requirements are implied but not explicitly stated).
