Job Description
The Structural Engineer will lead design and support project teams in power generation and delivery projects, including renewable energy facilities and substations, by developing technical plans, reviewing documents, conducting site assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support project teams in design and technical tasks
- Collaborate on project proposals, develop plans, and prepare deliverables
- Draft, review, and finalize technical documents, site plans, and reports
- Implement revisions to plans and documents to ensure regulatory compliance
- Conduct research, site visits, and field assessments to support project development
- Review survey data, legal descriptions, and easement documents for site feasibility
- Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, and PLS-CADD
- Manage communications with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
- Provide project status updates and ensure adherence to timelines and objectives
- Apply engineering principles and industry best practices to project deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is preferred
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in structural analysis and design of steel and concrete foundations and platforms for solar PV systems racking and tracking structures, electrical and mechanical equipment, and miscellaneous structures for utility-scale solar projects
- Experience in structural analysis and design of structures for substation and transmission line projects is preferred
- Experience working on Utility Scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
- Proficiency in using engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ROBOT, L-PILE, or equivalent software
- Experience with PLS-POLE, PLS-CADD, FAD TOOLS, or equivalent software is preferred
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required
- Registration as a Structural Engineer (SE) is preferred
- Must have experience in Renewable Energy projects and/or Substation and/or Transmission projects
