Job Description

The Structural Engineer will lead and support the design and analysis of structural components for power generation and transmission projects, managing technical deliverables, collaborating with clients and teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations in a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage structural engineering resources and support project teams
  • Lead and mentor project team members on technical assignments
  • Collaborate on project proposals and develop project plans
  • Prepare, review, and finalize structural design deliverables and reports
  • Implement revisions to ensure compliance with regulations and client feedback
  • Conduct site visits for field assessments
  • Apply engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D to complete assignments
  • Engage with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies for project updates
  • Provide project status reports to team leaders and project managers
  • Utilize engineering principles and industry best practices to deliver quality outcomes
  • Prioritize and manage workload to meet project deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Twelve (12) or more years of experience in structural analysis and design of structural steel and concrete foundations for heavy industrial, power generation, and/or electric transmission projects.
  • Experience in structural analysis and design of structures for substation and transmission line projects or gas generation facilities is preferred.
  • Proficiency in applying AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments while adhering to company standards.
  • Ability to manage structural engineering resources and ensure support for proposal and project teams.
  • Ability to participate in recruitment efforts to grow the structural engineering team.
  • Experience in leading and supporting project teams, guiding team members on assignments, and providing technical training and mentorship.
  • Experience in developing project plans, preparing proposals, and ensuring all deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and finalize structural design deliverables, reports, computations, structural analyses, project schedules, and budgets.
  • Ability to provide recommendations to the Project Manager regarding project design deliverables or scope.
  • Experience in modifying plans and documents based on feedback from agencies, municipalities, and clients to ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
  • Ability to conduct site visits as required to support project development.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies, respond to review letters, and coordinate project updates.
  • Ability to prepare and provide project status reports to keep the Project Manager and Team Leader informed on workload and ensure project timelines and objectives are met.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of fundamental engineering principles and industry best practices.
  • Strong workload management skills, including prioritizing and managing tasks to meet deadlines and maintain efficiency.
