Job Description
The Data Analyst at Atwell, LLC is responsible for analyzing and modeling complex datasets to support decision-making across civil engineering projects, with a focus on developing dashboards, predictive models, and insights to improve project performance, financial forecasting, and operational efficiency, including support for HR analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, model, and interpret complex datasets from enterprise systems to support decision-making.
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and data visualizations for various teams.
- Develop predictive models and statistical analyses for forecasting and operational insights.
- Create and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Microsoft tools.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality through validation and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop analytical solutions.
- Communicate analytical results clearly to non-technical audiences through visualizations and reports.
- Support data governance, security, and standardization of KPIs and reporting frameworks.
- Partner with HR to develop dashboards, metrics, and recurring reports related to workforce analytics.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for HRIS data structures, reporting, and integrations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field is required.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in data analytics or data science, preferably within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
- Experience supporting enterprise analytics using Deltek Vision Vantagepoint is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with Power BI dashboard development and data modeling.
- Experience working with SQL databases and building data pipelines or ETL processes.
- Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and advanced visualization design.
- Strong experience with SQL, including queries, stored procedures, and data modeling techniques.
- Understanding of Deltek Vision Vantagepoint data structures, reporting tables, and integration patterns.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, or machine learning techniques.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, and Azure-based tools.
- Ability to extract, analyze, and model data from Deltek Vision Vantagepoint, Microsoft SQL Server, and other enterprise systems.
- Ability to design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and data visualizations that deliver actionable insights.
- Ability to develop predictive models and statistical analyses to support forecasting, project risk identification, and operational decision-making.
- Ability to create and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Microsoft tools such as Power Query, SQL, Dataverse, and SharePoint integrations.
- Ability to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency through validation and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, finance, Human Resources, and IT teams to develop tailored analytical solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present findings to varied audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
