Job Description
Atwell is seeking a Structural Designer with experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement structural design input from the Lead Structural Engineer for oil and gas facilities, including pipelines, compressor stations, terminals, and processing plants
- Develop detailed construction documents, including structural plans, sections, and connection details for steel and concrete structures commonly used in oil and gas infrastructure
- Develop and detail ductwork layouts and designs for oil and gas facilities, coordinating duct routing, supports, equipment connections, and clearances with structural, mechanical, piping, and other disciplines
- Revise drawings based on redlines and ensure all affected sheets and disciplines are properly coordinated and updated
- Perform periodic field visits to verify existing conditions, collect structural framing and ductwork measurements, and support as-built documentation
- Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently, maintaining high-quality deliverables and meeting established deadlines
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Drafting & Design Technology, or a related field (preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and structural plan sets, particularly for oil and gas facilities such as pipelines, terminals, and process plants
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (versions 2021, 2022, or 2023) is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using AutoCAD and/or CADWorx for industrial structural or piping design
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative design team
- Pay Range - $30-$60 an hour base + bonus.
